Microsoft released new changes to the Mail, Calendar and People apps for Windows 8
After meager review to Windows 8, Microsoft is trying hard to catch the pace and are trying to attract lots of developers and also creating, updating apps on Windows Store which still lacks some good quality apps. Today on my Windows RT tablet I just received the new update for Mail, Calendar and People apps.
The new Mail app is now easy to organize and there’s a big emphasis on filters and folders and thus making the process of organizing content little easy and less stressful. Now with the new app user can even create and delete folders right from the Mail app.
Calendar app now offers a new visual enhancement, making easier to read and same goes for People app which now offers better navigation from which now you can easily swift between your profile and the “What’s New” feed.
Updates has already been rolled out. You can update by clicking on the Updates link on the top right corner for Windows Store app and if Windows Store is pinned to Start than you can easy see Updates available. Please let me know if anyone faces the issues after update. You can read the full post from here.

Users can also wait for October 26 to download it directly on the Computer for just $40 and its offer is valid only till January 2013. Also any customers who bought or will buy Windows 7 between June 2 2012 till the end of January 2013 will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for just $15. But Microsoft didn’t mentioned anything about Surface tablet which is planned to released at the same time.
Personally I feel Windows Surface is going to rock and Windows 8 Metro UI is really promising and for Surface I will be the first in the queue to buy it. Eagerly waiting for Surface tablet to release.

Microsoft Introducing New Bing
Three years after the launch of Bing in 2009, Microsoft is yet again in the news with so called as New Bing. Microsoft is making yet another attempt to integrate Facebook with Bing search result.
Today Microsoft rolled out an update which will add new column to the search results which will show Facebook friends which might be somehow related to your query. Gray sidebar will have all the list of friends which might help you regarding the search query.
Middle section of the new Bing page is called as Snapshot and is reserved for completing the tasks, such as getting the direction, making hotel reservation or buying the movie tickets.
Bringing social networking to search is what most of them are trying and even Microsoft has tried it before but were not successful but with this new approach it seems they will surely get some success. Interface wise I really liked the look and feel. One of the main problem with the traditional search is the trust. Its very tough to compare which sources are trusted. But with social searching it will make common user’s life easy. Even Google tried integrating Google+ with its Google search results which was not fruitful since number of users are very less on Google+ and integrating was not good and sometime it was also very annoying.
Before releasing the new Bing Microsoft cleaned up the basic UI of the Bing search page last week, removing much of the clutter and make it clean and simple (I really liked it).
